Welcome to the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering as we like to call it, the BTGE family.
This department has always been more than just classrooms and labs. It’s a place where curiosity turns into discovery, and students grow into confident researchers, innovators, and thinkers. We offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to prepare you for real-world challenges from improving healthcare and agriculture to driving sustainable solutions for our environment. We’re proud of what we’ve built here: 8 advanced research labs, 5 practical labs, and modern multimedia classrooms that make learning hands-on and exciting. Our students don’t just study they participate in cultural events, play sports, and often win national-level poster and conference awards.
What makes BTGE special is the sense of belonging. We work, learn, and celebrate together. Our graduates are now doing incredible things across the world in universities, research centers, and industries carrying the spirit of this department wherever they go. We’re on a shared journey to make BTGE one of the best departments in the country and I’m proud to walk that path with all of you.
