Pro-Vice Chancellor's profile
Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, the current Pro-Vice Chancellor of Islamic University Bangladesh, is a renowned Selection Grade Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh. In his long career spanning about three decades, he proved his worth as a distinguished academician, leading ICT expert of national and international repute, and efficient administrator in a university setting. He was the Chair of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Director of Institute of Islamic Education and Research (IIER), Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Provost of Bangomata Fozillatunnessa Mujib Hall, Member of the Finance Committee of Islamic University, Syndicate member of Islamic University, and Chief Editor of JAST. Also, in his capacity as an educationist, he is now serving as a syndicate and senate member of Khulna University and First Capital University Bangladesh, as well as an expert member at Rajshahi University, Islamic University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Khulna University, Jessore University of Science and Technology and Nowakhali Science and Technology University. Formerly, he was the regent board member of Pabna Science and Technology University and an expert member at HSTU and PUST. A staunch upholder of the progressive ideology since his student life, Professor Rahman successfully completed his terms respectively as the General Secretary, Senior Vice President, President of Bangabandhu Parishad. He was the elected President of the Islamic University Teachers’ Association. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Meanwhile, he published more than eighty papers in reputed international & national journals and conferences.
