MESSAGE FROM CHAIRMAN

From the very beginning of glorious journey of The Department of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies, under The Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies, in 1992, it is a unique department among the other departments in Islamic University, Bangladesh. In comparison to the departments in other universities in the World where the Islamic Studies are being taught, the department of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies, IU, Bangladesh is verily fit for having its own place among them because of its unique curricula, prominent professors, friendly atmosphere, cordial supervision and so on. The Department of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies offers BTIS (Hon’s), MTIS, MPhil as well as PhD degree for the students from home and abroad. Including Bangla, Arabic and English are the medium of instruction and communication. The syllabus of The Department of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies has been designed as a distinguished combination of Theological aspects, Islamic thoughts, international relations, globalization, contemporary Muslim World, research methodology and of specialized courses in the field of Hadith literature like: Books and Texts of Hadith, Terminology, Asma-ur Rijaal, Al-Jarh wat Ta’dil, Dirasatul Asaaneed, History of Hadith and so on. A good number of alumni of this department have successfully achieved their goal in both sectors of religion and perpetual and serving the nations nationally and internationally. Now, with the view of internationalization, the department has recently a new turn in research field with collaboration of scholars from different countries.
