Welcome to the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science
The Department of Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) at Islamic University, Bangladesh, was established in 2020 under the Faculty of Science with the aim of modernizing sports and improving national health through scientific knowledge. The first admission took place in 2021, and the inaugural session (2021–2022) began with 30 students selected from both science and non-science backgrounds, all with proven involvement in sports and physical activity. The department currently offers an undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, now administered under the Faculty of Biological Sciences to better align with its curriculum and academic vision. Since its establishment, PESS has been dedicated to promoting scientific approaches to physical education, enhancing lifestyle and wellness, and its students have already demonstrated excellence in both academic and sporting arenas.
