Google Scholar:My name is Md Imtiaj Islam. I was born in 1993 in Jhenaidah and currently live in Kushtia. I am a Visual Artist and Educator in the Department of Fine Arts (Drawing & Painting) at Islamic University, Bangladesh. I hold an MFA in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, under an ICCR scholarship, and a BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Dhaka. Over the past 11 years, I have exhibited my work in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, China, Italy, and India. My accomplishments include referenced articles, exhibitions, and academic achievements. I have received the Sovereign Asian Art Prize 2021, the National Award for Installation in 2021, an Artist Grant from Brihatta Art Foundation, and an Honourable Mention in the Young Art Exhibition 2025. I was also awarded the Chobi Mela XI Fellowship from Pathshala South Asian Media Institute. In addition to teaching, I have experience in assistant curation and publication design.
Research interest:Travelling as a Methodology in South Asian Visual Arts. Natural Materials. Traditional Art Practice. Folk Art of Bengal.
